ABOUT ME
It is hard to say how my friends would describe me. I want to believe they would say that they are enjoying spending time with me. That I am cheery, kind and supportive. That I am interesting and I make their life more colorful. Probably, they would also say something negative in order to make me more human. That I am stubborn, noisy and sometimes wimp. But in whole they would probably say that I am a nice easy-going guy.
PHILOSOPHY
If ever it's necessary to ride the bandwagon, it's done with one leg swinging out and eyes scoping the fields.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Back home in Moldova I've been hosting people for some time, since I was living alone, had a lot of free time and enjoyed to discover my city together with my guests. I also surf myself, since I don't like "touristy" routine with "site-seeing - restaurant - hotel - bed" path.
Currently I study in Glasgow and rent an apartment with living in landlords, so, unfortunately, I can not host due to my contract terms.
Centres d'intérêt
I am journalist by profession and by vocation and as every good journalist I am an explorer. I like to discover new places, new people and new interesting topics. I worked as a BBC Russian Service reporter in Moldova and Transnistria and currently I am writing a blog for BBC about student life in UK and opportunities for scholarships.
I like modern Japanese literature and European (as well as Russian) postmodernism. Also I am a fan of Japan culture, I read manga time to time or watch anime (although don't have much time for it now).
I am fan of platformer games and 8-bit music. Guess, I am stuck in time when Dendy was still cool.
Strangely I like Nicolas Cage acting, since it is an example of something going so bad, that it becomes good.
My spiritual side enjoys ballet, figure skating, 60s music and cooking.
Also big fan of different TV series: Doctor Who, BBC Sherlock, Games of thrones, Breaking Bad, House - you name it!
When I was 10 I thought I would stop watching cartoons when I will grow up. Never worked: just love Adventure Time, South Park, Family Guy, et.
Also in childhood I was attacked by a satanic goat of my aunt Maria, so now I am very cautious towards these creatures. People would not invent Baphomet out of nothing.
Jung's / Keirsey MBTI test repeatedly tells me that the best profession for my psycho-type is forest ranger, which is the last thing would go for. So psychological tests for me is somewhere on the same page with astrology and fortune telling.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
The most awestruck moments happen in childhood. When people get older they tend to be less susceptible. At least that is true about me. I remember the moment when I first saw the sea. When I was 5 I for the first time went with my parents to the Black Sea. I heard about the sea before but never saw it. All the way there I was staring in the window trying to catch the sight of it. I even started to imagine I see it on the horizon. I was pointing in the window and asking my mom “Is that it? Is that it?”. And she would answer: “No sweety, it’s just the sky”. So marvelously blue the sky was that day. In the end the sea was nothing like I had imagined. It was better. It was strong, it was horizonless. It was magnificent and frightening at the same time. I imagined it was alive and could swallow you any moment and it will not even notice that because I am just a grain of sand comparing to it. I was just standing and watching it in the sunset. There was no one around since it was near a small village. My parents went to swim but I was just standing and looking at the sea. It was so beautiful I didn’t want to spoil this feeling with some ridiculous swimming. I just enjoyed watching the sunset at the sea.
The second story is shorter. I believe I am a lucky guy who always gets in some tricky situations. For example, I was the one who always break his arms and legs, falling from the trees or getting burned by some homemade explosives. When I and my friends got in some fights I have always been the most injured. One time I even had amnesia because of concussion. But I was always an inch from getting seriously harmed. In 2010 I was in Moscow subway going to work when the bomb exploded at my station. Luckily I was in previous train. That time I realized how death is always close to us and how easily people die. And how realy, realy lucky I am.
