ABOUT ME

Very short attention span so need new things to keep me occupied all the time. New experiences, new places and new people. Like to follow my intincts and step out of my comfort zone. Fascinated by peope and the way we all think. What drives us. What we aspire to.

As far as travellling is concerned this year, I'm enjoying seeing more of my green and rather wet country this Summer. I thought earlier this year that it's easy to go to other countries, but figured that there are so many amazing places here worth seeing. As long as the veedub keeps going. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well despite my proximity to London, I've not yet had the opportunity to host, but then I expect there are plenty enough CSers in London. Also Reading isn't exactely a tourist destination.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not CSed before but looking forward to doing it and meeting fantastic people from all over. Hopefully I'll get chance to return the gift. Seems a fantastic way of seeing places and meeting the people who live there as well as bringing something of your own culture.

Interests

Cycling, music, guitar, music, gym, festivals, music, people, photography, Burning Man and did I mention music? I love festivals and tend to hang out at the smaller stages to hear new or lesser know bands rather than pitching up in front of the main stages all day.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Loads but one of my favourites is Into The Wild (and what a soundtrack!).

Music: Like music across most genres. Anything from Foo Fighters and Chili Peppers to Paul Van Dyk and Red Snapper to The Levellers and Rodrigo y Gabriela. Always on the lookout for stuff. Obscure or mainstream. If you reckon I should hear something, let me know! My goal when I travel is to collect local music representing the places I visit.

Books: Last few were The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, The Dice Man and Fastfood Nation. Have also had The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe sat on this desk for far too long. Really should start on it. I bought it after attending an immersive theatre production of The Masque of the Red Death which was amazing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing in the middle of the Nevada desert being beaten by the blistering heat and dust storms, with the best souls I've met on village Earth.....and I get to do it all over again this year!
