Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

The world is a big place...I better get started :D

ABOUT ME

"Hm..How to start? I'm hungry. I should get coffee. Coffee would help me think. Maybe I should write something first, then reward myself with coffee. Coffee and a muffin. So I need to establish the themes..Maybe a banana nut. That's a good muffin"

I am currently a Student at the University of Kentucky. In a few years I will be attending Medical School somewhere on the east coast. I'm interested in going into Trauma surgery. Yep, so that's me scholastically, outside school I'm a boxer/photgrapher/writer. I love to travel and be spontaneous and I really love new experiences, good or bad.

I recently got into photography and I absolutely love it. Here's a link to some of my pictures:

PHILOSOPHY

Never stop growing, never stop learning, and always stop at stoplights... :D

I believe in taking life one day at a time and that nothing is impossible through hard work and motivation.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I exist as a couchsurfer who is eager to meet and get to know other couchsurfers in other countries. When I return to my home, I will open my door to couchsurfers who, like me, are curious about their world and wish to explore it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first couchsurfing experience in Genova, Italy and it was absolutely incredible. The group that hosted me had a small party/get-together the first night that I was there. There was delicious homemade pasta being passed around, I met a ton of new friends, and everyone made me feel right at home. It was a priceless experience that really showed me the meaning of the word "hospitality".

Intereses

Photography, old movies, guacamole, staying up late watching random youtube clips, traveling, learning how to say "I don't understand" in different languages, stand-up comedy, playing the saxophone, teaching my old dog new tricks, rainstorms, KY basketball, boxing, laughing in libraries/museums and other quiet places, enjoying life and appreciating its obstacles

Algo increíble que he hecho

One of my favorite boxers is Puerto Rican native Miguel Cotto. I really idolized him when I was in Highschool and so one day, I made up my mind that I was going to save up my money and travel to go box with him. I researched for months, trying to find out where exactly his gym was in Puerto rico but I couldn't find it! Then, I finally had some luck as I found the small town that he trained/grew up in which was called Caguas. So, I saved up my money for an entire summer, bought a plane ticket out to San Juan and then took a taxi to the small town of Caguas. With a little bit of difficulty, I managed to find the small and humble gym that housed the world champion. It was by no means flashy or extravagant nor did it have the expensive and well kept equipment that one might find in any other boxing gym. The energy however, which radiated from every corner of the gym, was enough to light up New York. The gym was so full of life that I found it hard to tear myself away from it at the end of each training session. The greatest part about the whole experience was the fact that I didn't just get to meet Miguel Cotto and his trainer, but I got to train along side of him throughout my stay. It was a spectacular experience.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Teach:

-I can teach you a thing or two about Photography and/or Photoshop (some of my photography can be seen in the link in the "All about you" section above)

-I can teach those who are interested some of the basics of boxing; I've been boxing since I was 11 and I think its fun to introduce people to the sport :)
