About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To open up our little world for our son so he can meet more people from all over the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm Leslie (36), married to Bryan (40). We have a 6 year old son named John.
I grew up in Georgia. Bryan grew up in Massachusetts. We met in 1998 while we were both thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. After we finished the trail, I moved to Massachusetts where I was stationed as a flight attendant with Delta Airlines. We lived there until late 2001 when we moved into our van and headed west. We spent about 6 months traveling around and then hit the Pacific Crest Trail. We walked from Mexico to Canada together with our dog, Coy.
After the trail, we moved to Key West, Fl. and lived in our van while I worked as a cocktail waitress. In March 2003, we got married and then hiked the Appalachian Trail again for our honeymoon.
We moved to New Hampshire after finishing the trail, and Bryan joined the Army. He was sent to Korea after training so I stayed behind and moved to Massachusetts where I worked as a dog walker and waitress.
When he returned a year later, I got pregnant with our son, and we eventually moved to Texas for a year. John was born there, and he has been my life ever since.
Bryan deployed to Iraq in Oct. 2006, so John and I moved back to New Hampshire/Massachusetts for a year. I spent most of the summer of '07 taking John on hikes in the White Mountains.
In 2008, we moved to Monterey, Ca. and then to Ft. Bragg, NC in 2010. We settled back in New Hampshire after Bryan left the Army in 2011.
In my search for future volunteer farming opportunities for John and I, since I plan to homeschool, I came across couchsurfing. I think this is a cool idea. And although we may not use it in the near future for ourselves to travel, I thought it would be a cool way to open up our home and have John meet people from all over the world.
