About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn to play Wuthering Heights on piano.

ABOUT ME

I'm a student living in the beautiful city of Melbourne, working part time at a backpackers hostel. I seem to head off overseas every so often. Most recently I spent a month or so in New York and Québec, which was amazing and cold. I'm off to Europe at the end of January before uni starts again and I have to settle down for another year.

I play a bit of music, piano and a bit of guitar. My radio is tuned to Classic FM and my tv isn't tuned properly. I have a fondness for women who cook on TV, ie. Two Fat Ladies, Maggie Beer and Nigella. Favourite thing to do is eat a big meal and drink a nice bottle of red in front of the ABC. But since my TV doesn't work this doesn't happen all that often.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've never been or hosted a couchsurfer, but I hope that will change in the next month or so. I'm heading off to Europe and it's my aim to couchsurf as much as I can. I'm tired of being a tourist and hanging out in hostels.

In Melbourne, I would be down with hosting people and, time permitting, showing them around. Melbourne's a great place, but I feel like you need someone who lives here to show you to the cool places. Otherwise you may just get sucked into a world of casinos and ugly nightclubs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet. I'm hoping to build my portfolio in the coming months.

Interests

Music, art, cheese! Buying books at a rate exceeding the speed at which I read them. On a more professional note: writing and marketing (please don't scoff).

Music, Movies, and Books

Films all seem to linger but I can't think of any favourites. That doesn't mean I didn't like them. Music falls somewhere between baroque and modern (inclusive). Standouts are Kate Bush, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Aimee Mann and some more. Just read Brideshead Revisited, currently reading a history of Berlin, next is a biography of Peter de Rome and then Perfume.
