HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My housemates are couchsurfers and got me into it by hosting some great people and holding a weekly drawing event in my house.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am pretty new to Couchsurfing. I've hosted some folks and met some really wonderful people through events in the community. I'm moving house, then I hope to be hosting people again. I'm looking forward to surfing for the first time.

I love theatre, music, art, and dancing. Don't be fooled by my artistic exterior - I'm also a big nerd who loves science and neuropsychology and perception and marine biology.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Movies: The Fall, Once, Cold Souls, Pan's Labyrinth, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Little Miss Sunshine, Death to Smoochy, Snatch

Music: I have a deep love for Canadian music. Great Big Sea, Moxy Fruvous, Hawksley Workman, Luke Doucet etc. I also love Crosby stills and Nash, Beirut, Ozomatli and anything with close harmonies or interesting rythms.

Books: Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyla and any well done whodunnit. I adore magical realism, so Isabelle Allende and Gabriel Garcia Marquez among others. I really like Malcolm Gladwell and Oliver Sacks for good nonfiction. Virginia Woolf, PG Wodehouse, Oscar Wilde, Stephen Fry are my favourite wordsmiths.

Oh boy. in africa our boat came up alongside a large bull elephant who was invisible behind some reeds. He looked at us warily and started walking away. Just to make sure we were being submissive, he turned around and sprayed us with water! The guides said we were too close, and we were lucky that giving us a good soaking was all he did!

I know dozens of songs with simple harmony parts or rounds (canons) that are easy to learn. I can teach some hand-to-hand acrobatics, and how to cook enchiladas or a mean green curry.
