ABOUT ME

I'm a wanderer, I guess. I love good conversation, good books and funny people. I enjoy being with well-traveled, intelligent people and listening to their stories. I'm always trying to make friends with people who are older, smarter and more experienced than I.

I didn't really start my life until I left the US over a year ago, and now I have friends all over the world. Travel and adventure have become like oxygen to me.

I like things that provoke a strong reaction. Books that make me laugh aloud, cry or pitch them at the wall, for example. I prefer a life that's rich and vibrantly real and full of passion, however ill-advised.

Historical fiction, poetry (Millay!), writing of almost any kind, semantics, language(s), grammar, photography, running, most sports (I like to sweat!), traveling, taking risks, being close to/in salt water, trying new stuff, talking, listening and learning anything someone is willing to teach.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

In Turkey, a local friend took me away from the tourist-choked city of Alanya to a little town called Gazipaşa on the Mediterranean, about forty km up the coast. The water was completely, absolutely transparent, the color of the bluest sapphire and totally undisturbed. Clear water - wow, how rare, I know. But the serene, wholly untouched beauty of that place moved me profoundly. It was like seeing the world at the beginning of time.
