PhD student in pigeon lady-ism, also actress by trade when life allows me to take time for it, born in France but lived in South Africa, Uzbekistan and Australia. I love to travel and meet very different people, back younger I wanted to be an adventurer, turned out being a biologist was the closest I could find from it. Very open-minded, adventurous and with a constant will for learning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling as much as I do is a tremendous experience and if I was told, few years ago, that I would ever have the amazing luck to live that kind of life I would not have believed it, too good to be true. But, we do feel lonely, I just stay long enough in the places I work in to get attached to people and then leave. But couchsurfing is a great way to meet fantastic people faster than I would on my own ! That must be the main reason why I love it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Huge sci-fi/fantasy fan, I love imaginary worlds and cultures, but I am open to everything, books, movies, music, discovering people's favourite pieces is very enjoyable.
I am also very obsessed with Master Tolkien's work, so if you ever launch that subject, be prepared for me, drop in the eyes, talking hours long about how much a genius he was, you've been warned ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been stung by a scorpion, accidently swam with crocs, got lost in the mountains while trekking in New Zealand, bitten by a deadly snake in Australia, and swam with crocs over there too (nice shy ones) and glad to still be here to tell these stories =)

Teach, Learn, Share

If you have an interest in animal behavior, this is basically my job and life, I can tell you about them hours long, I never get bored of it.
I love to learn new languages, just have the basics of it. When I was living in South Africa, whenever I had the chance to, I was asking for people to teach me some of their mothertongue, this place is full of different ethnicities speaking different languages, very suitable for this. I hence know few words of Zulu, Xhosa, Afrikaans and Swahili. In Uzbekistan I have been taught bits of Tadjik and Uzbek. So, whatever language you speak, please teach me =)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can birdwatch with you. I have good fieldwork stories but enjoy comfortable silence as well. And, I am not too bad in the kitchen, french stereotype at its best !
