Grew up in Poland but fell in love with NY where I spent one third of my life only to find the promise land (for now ) in the amazing South West. I'm huge outdoors enthusiast, settled down vagabond always looking for new adventures.

I met a traveler on the train in Mexico and since his next stop was going to be Phoenix I offered him a place to stay. He told me about this community and I signed up. I love this idea because you can get to know the places 10 times better if you have a local contacts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a bunch of people announcing their arrival just to not show up ( please either confirm or cancel it, I make my plans accordingly ). I hosted many people so far and stayed with many during my travels. Became friends with many. I had nothing but amazing experiences so far.

I saw a full solar eclipse in Varanasi ( India ) and afterward, followed the superstitions of locals to wash away the bad energy in the holy river of Ganges. I saw full solar eclipse again in Wyoming .
I fell out of the perfectly good airplane few hundred times. I hiked rim to rim in Grand Canyon in 10 hours during the summer heat. I hiked the majestic fiords in Norway. It took me hours to go up and only seconds to get down. Once ( it's a long story why ) I hitchiked from Italy to Poland and back to wash my sleeping bag.
I average about 30k km on my motorcycle every year. I experienced a strong earthquake. I'm privileged to experience some of the most stunning places that no hiker can ever get to and only a handful of canyoneers have ever seen.
