About Me

I love being outside, enjoying nature and exploring new places. I grew up in a small village in Auckland — it is New Zealand's largest city however it’s green, surrounded by water and built across nearly 50 volcanoes. The landscape is diverse as is the whole country and I'm blessed to call it home. I love to travel and immerse myself in the local culture. Making new friends, sharing stories and having meaningful inspiring conversations. I find beauty in the small things in life and appreciate living simply.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all good music whether it be released today or 70 years ago. I've been listening lately to mostly hip hop, funk and soul. Recently played artists are... A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Cymande, Parliament, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye.

I mainly like movies based on true events, documentaries and independent films. A few favourites that come to mind are... Moonrise Kingdom, Catch Me if You Can, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Howl's Moving Castle, The Way, Blackfish, Life is Beautiful, Pina, The Salt of the Earth, Cinema Paradiso, Some like it Hot, Fight Club.

I've never been the greatest reader until recently. This year I set a goal for myself to read a book a month. I prefer non fiction and I'm currently reading Sapiens by Noah Yuval Harari.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Simply leaving home and seeing this world. I’m living in amazement in this very moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm eager to learn just about anything. I'd like to become a jack of all trades as I'd rather be good at many things than great at just one thing. Some things I want to develop my knowledge of are permaculture/ self sustainability, meditation, spanish language, handicrafts etc...
