I went busking across europe for a few months last summer, needed to return dem favours when I got back. But now we just really really likes it

* bonus bit I wrote down when I was a bit loved up out in the world, I may not be quite as mushy in person

My favourite quote was always one of Norman Mailer's, who said "every moment of one's existence one is growing into more or retreating into less"

And I now think maybe this could be expanded to a societal level also. You can spend your days nonchalantly scraping away at the division that exists between people. I try to remember to engage in as much eye contact / smiling / greetings as possible in town, to sharpen my instincts on how to build warmth with hosts, to know when to share and when to ask questions... and when to shut up... slow for me to figure this out ha

cs is so wonderful because it can gently expand global unity, one small meeting at a time. It doesn't always work ( because there's no accounting for chemistry between complex personalities ), but the more we meet and then share funny stories of our meetings - spreading the word of how strangers are actually essentially fascinating + amusing and not at all something to be afraid of getting near to - then that's surely all for the good and true.
