About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn Swedish and have a bottomless wine cellar

ABOUT ME

My name is Dominika and I live in Poznań, Poland, where I was born. I love to travel and meet interesting people. My passion is to collect precious memories which I keep in a big wicker box. I keep photos in there, as well as tickets, maps, folders, decorative souvenirs and many other things which are precious to me and evoke so many unforgettable experiences! You may also be a part of my life-box, so that I would recall the time spent together and drink your health with a glass of good wine.:)
I'm also a very loyal person; if you become my friend, I'll always take your side and help you when you need me.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't kill time; rather make it worthwile, enjoyable and precious. Live your fantasies and always keep some V.I.D (Very Important Dream) for later use.
Finally, remain curious and don't be prejudiced against anybody.
:)

And remember that great things happen when people get together!:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the time being I can only be a surfer as I don't have any couch to share (surf on). Still, if you are in Poznań and would like to meet, need some help or just want to have a little chat, contact me. I'll be very happy to meet you. I can also show you around if you like or try to solve some burning issues which might turn up.:)

****If I'm a surfer, you may expect a gift from me in return for your hospitality. I shall get you some fancy little thing, like a piece of jewellery, if you're a woman, or a nice mild beer from Poland, if you're a guy. I may also get you some typically Polish seasoning or some other things I invent for you.:)

I never want to outstay your welcome, so I like to have everything discussed and agreed on in advance. I'm happy if you tell me a lot about your country and about yourself.

I'd also appreciate all the tips you may give me before my arrival.

***If I'm a host, I do my best to make you feel comfortable. At present I can't offer you any place to sleep but still can spend time with you, go to a pub, show around or have a casual stroll. Should you have any problems, I can also try to help you. I'd appreciate if you gave me a little gift from your country:) I like to cook so you may give me some nice recipe and some ingredients. You may bring me something I can use in the kitchen - a fruit, a drink, a seasoning, a dip, a syrup, some preserves or any other fancy things.:) You may also give me a postcard, a photo, a piece of jewellery or some alcohol:) I put trust in your creativity andd good will to make our meeting memorable and exceptional. Above all, I'd like to have a little memory of you in my wicker box. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no CS experience yet but am really looking forward to it. I wish to make use of budget airlines, travel a lot and meet fascinating people - and I'll do my best to succeed. ;)

Interests

Not quite extraordinarily, my interests revolve mostly around music, literature and cultural events, in a broad sense. As an Adam Mickiewicz University Choir singer, I'm interested in singing and classical music (did you know, that the effort you put into singing is comparable with what you need to do in a mine?). :) When I say that I'm interested in music though, it means that I'm open to any genre of it. I like jazz, electro, pop-rock, rock, indie and many other styles. I also like to read books, especially travel ones, biographies, historical accounts and novels.

Apart from all this, I love to play board games and spend time outdoors. I like to walk and sightsee, as well as to wander round the area, sit in a park or even take a bus and travel around. Generally, I love to spend time in the open, get together and do something enjoyable.

I like to cook! Cooking calms me down and makes me happy because of beautiful colours and smells. I love to cook with others and share recipies. If you're keen on wines, then we are bound to find common ground! I like to eat good food and drink some wine. Honestly, I think that cooking, eating and drinking wine bring people closer.:))

I'm also interested in foreign languages. Recently I've begun to learn Swedish. I'd be delighted if you taught me some fancy words in your language. :) I can teach you some Polish in return. If you're kinda hardcore, I can show you some extreme Polish tongue-twisters.:) Anyway, if you'd like to know how to say 'Hello', 'Bye', 'Two beers, please' or any other nice things in Polish, I'm here to enlighten you.:)

I also love animals, so I wouldn't mind if you have a pet or even a whole farm in the backyard. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

The entire life would be too short to read, watch and listen to everything I'd like to! Let's not waste time, then:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've sang in many amazing places: in Bayeux Cathedral, in Kerkrade (the Netherlands) during the World Music Contest, at the top of Mont Saint-Michel Abbey, in Bolivia during the festival 'Missiones de Chiquitos'.

I had an over-atlantic air travel and survived a 40-degree heat.

I visited American Cemetery and Memorial in Normandy, France, which was an amazing experience. I also put my feet on the Omaha beach.
During my stay in France i drank a lot of delicious wine and played board games in the open:)

Teach, Learn, Share

Just as I've said, I love to cook but I love to cook even more when I can share my happiness and pleasure from cooking with somebody else:) I'd like to share recipies and ingredients. We may cook something delicious together:)
I can also teach you some Polish words as a native speaker of Polish. It's great fun:)
I also appreciate if you can tell me a lot of interesting things about you, your town, your country. I'm genuinely interested in other cultures, people and languages. And cuisines;)
