About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live until there's nothing more to live for
ABOUT ME
I'm a 23-year-old occupational therapist. I live in Vantaa with my husband and our son who was born on January 2013.
I like to write short stories and poems, jogg, swim, listen to music, play violin (not really for a long time, I just aim to go on with that hobby someday. I have played violin quite regularly 11 years of my life) and hang out with my friends and family. We invite friends frequently to our home to enjoy some tea / coffee / wine etc. and some homemade food.I'm a friendly, somewhat thoughtful person. Some of my best qualities are patience, an optimistic attitude towards life and a good sense of sarcasm. I love a good conversation and want to get to know other people as they really are. I dream about publishing a novel some day. I want to travel a lot and get to know to people from a variety of cultures. When I travel, I search for beautiful landscapes and even more beautiful friendships. Some day, after a couple of years or after a couple decades I want to live in the countryside.
PHILOSOPHY
I haven't grown to see all of the things that make nationalities and cultures different. I've grown to see the same humanity in everyone. Religions, political views, prosperity and poverty, in the end they are all just the surface. We are all different but we're all as much the same.My life isn't just about my own existence, it's about existing as a part of this world. My life is it's own story, it's totally mine, it's what I know and it's precious. But it isn't just for me. Life stories are to be shared and to be learned from.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It's always a pleasure for me to make some time to have a cup of coffee or a drink with travelers. I like to show the city around for foreigners, especially when they're interested to see more than the regular tourist attractions. If you're visiting Helsinki or Vantaa, send me a message and we'll find time to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, have a cup of coffee, go for a drink, have a picnic, go for a walk, cook together, visit my friends, something. First and foremost, let's become friends :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have CouchSurfed in Budapest, Hungary and in Umka, Serbia. I have also had wonderful time in a CS meeting in a jazz bar in Belgrade and in a CS picnic at the Belgrade Fortress. My friend Viivi was there with me.In Helsinki:- I have had breakfast with a CS friend from Istanbul, Turkey. It took one beautiful summer noon for us to realize we have both met a new trustworthy friend.- I have had coffee with two Italian couchsurfers and escorted them to their bus to airport.- I have had coffee and walked around rainy, grey Helsinki with a French CouchSurfer.- I have hosted three Latvian street musicians in my previous home for three nights. I went to see their bar gig and on their last night we all went out to hang out in the rock'n'roll bars in the center of Helsinki.- I have hosted two French guys for two nights. They cooked a great dinner for me and my roommate. I also went to an Irish bar and to a Mexican bar with them.- I have hosted a Russian young woman and shared my room with her for 5 days. We walked a lot around the city, went to the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Arts and had a lot of great conversations over a tea cup at nights. She was a guest for 5 days and became a friend for a lifetime.- I have hosted a German guy and a German girl for 3 nights in September 2011. We had a lot of fun together, singing karaoke, cooking together and inviting my Finnish friends for an informal dinner. I have a smile on my face while thinking of them.

Anna-Leena Härkönen - Loppuunkäsitelty (It's based on the author's own life, she describes in the book how her life was after her sister committed suicide. I guess the book hasn't been translated into English.)
And then there are poems. Dozens of wonderful poems for example from Edith Södergran, Aila Meriluoto, Aleksis Kivi, Eino Leino, Katri Vala, Eeva Kilpi and Anna-Leena Härkönen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have heard songs from the minarets in the night of Sarajevo, I have rode by a bus through Sweden and Norway to play violin in Oslo, I have been bouldering, I have galloped on a back of a horse through English countryside, I have traveled 30 days around Europe by train, I have written a manuscript to a school musical and whispered the lines for the actors in all of the three shows, I have sipped morning tea and glanced the sunrise of a Californian valley, I have been protesting against war, I have helped an anorexic young woman to find her motivation to start to live fearlessly, I have danced waltz in the shore of a lake in bright Finnish summer night.
I have written, I have rocked, I have played and sung, I have painted on the rocks of Suomenlinna Fortress, I have danced, I have seen art, I have made wonderful friends for the rest of my life.
I have gone to a coffeeshop to meet a stranger and known from the first moment that I want to stand by his side. Three months later I have said "yes" when that person asked me whether we're going to get married. I have walked in a beautiful spring day in Helsinki center and realized I'm as ready to have children as I'll ever be. In January 2013 I gave birth to our firstborn. He's the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
A year doesn't go by without something amazing to happen. Ask me more when we meet and tell me about the amazing moments of your life.
