About Me

I’ve spent half of my life in China and the other half in Canada, which has shaped me into someone open-minded, curious, and adaptable. I enjoy exploring new ideas and places while still holding onto the traditional values of my culture.

When I travel purely for exploration, I’m especially drawn to the Middle East and Africa. I believe the best scenery and stories are found on the road, and when I travel solo, I often begin by exploring regions beyond the city centers.

I love discovering local places that aren’t on the typical tourist map, meeting new people, and learning about everyday life—even when language is a barrier. I’ve recently started learning Spanish and hope it will eventually help me pick up French as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

From time to time, friends I’ve met through Couchsurfing have given me more meaningful advice and help than guidebooks like Lonely Planet or TripAdvisor. I prefer to spend time in a place and truly soak it in rather than rush from one destination to another. Speed-running through major capitals isn’t really my style - I believe it takes time to appreciate and genuinely experience any culture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once joined a casino poker tournament during a layover in Panama City and ended up finishing in second place. Experiences like that remind me how much I enjoy stepping into the unexpected.

But what I truly hope to be able to say in ten years is that I’ve used my creativity to help address or even improve a social issue. Even if the impact reaches only thousands, that would feel meaningful to me.

I work in fruit wholesale and am currently brainstorming ways to responsibly redirect underutilized fresh produce to support low-income families.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good conversation, cultural exchange shaped by living in both China and Canada, and a respectful, easygoing presence. I’m always happy to help out, cook together, or simply exchange stories and perspectives.

I also enjoy contributing to creative and practical projects. I’m glad to offer thoughtful feedback on your creative work, brainstorm startup ideas, or help break down something you’ve always wanted to do into clear, actionable steps.

I’ve worked in marketing, product management, as well as sales and purchasing, and I’m happy to share my experience and exchange ideas.
