About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live simply and share love and joy with the world.

I was very inspired by the kindness of strangers on a recent hitch hiking trip in Europe and would like to inspire others with acts of kindness.

ABOUT ME

I'm a very easy going friendly person. I can usually get on with most people especially those that are open minded and socially conscious.

I love talking, laughing, dancing and I try to never take myself to seriously.

PHILOSOPHY

"There's a crack, a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in..."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love sharing my time, space and belongings with other curious travellers. If I can host I host if not I share my time and ideas.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted great people and have made life long friends.

Interests

I'm happiest when I'm out in the mountains really early in the morning. Winter is my favourite season because I love back country touring and seeing animal prints in the snow.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Brazil, True Romance and Buffalo 66. I have to admit I haven't watched or really enjoyed a movie in quite a few years.

Music - I'm really into folky stuff or funk with a big brass section these days. I like to listen to any/all music anyone wants to share with me especially live. I don't play Amy instruments myself and have great respect and admiration for those who do.

Books - House of Spirits, God of Small Things, The Mists of Avalon, The Grapes of Wrath, Catch 22, Oscar Wilde, Thomas Hardy, Wuthering Heights, Death and the Penguin, The Hitch hikers Guide to the Galaxy series, Murkami, Catcher in the Rye, Michael Hayes, Jack London.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 17 I read The Pilgrimage by Paulo Coehlo. That summer I was inspired to hike The Camino de Santiago. Northern Spain was in a drought but my sister my friend and I headed off from Bilbao with little hiking experience, enormously heavy backpacks and open minds. What made this experience truly great was the kindness we experienced from strangers along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a little Irish.

I would like to do some wood carving and learn traditional Norwegian cooking.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation, cooked meals, enthusiasm for the outdoors.
