Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know this place through friends who have been travelling all the time. I'm sure this will be a place enriching my life, and I hope I can enrich others through here as well^^

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience comes along with a conference in Newport, U.K. Being encouraged by a good friend, Yiju, who travels the whole Europe by couch surfing, I started to get into the world of CS. For there are only two hosts in Newport, it is not an easy task to find one to host us. Indeed, one refused us, and the other had moved away. However, just at this time I was so frustrated, a miracle happens: Chris, the host who has left Newport, tried hard to find his other friends in Newport for us. Finally, we had a host there, Codey. To be honest, at first I was quite nervous because I didn't really know what would be the exact situation of CS, but I was also very excited and expected it a lot. When the moment really came, it was so good. Interestingly, this was the first experience for both we and Codey., and it indeed went so well. Codey offered us a room, and cooked us English breakfast. We also cooked him and his friends traditional Chinese food. We enjoyed each other a lot and had a really good time. We even watched TV and DVD together, and exchanged a lot of experiences. It is really an invaluable experience to me. Due to joining another in Oxford, it’s a pity we just stayed there for two nights. Codey invited us to go back sometime and he promised to show us around Cardiff. Moreover, he even found a host for us in London. Though we didn't stay there, we did participate in a party there. It was an awesome party, a lot of interesting people there. Theses are really fabulous experiences to me. To me, CS is not just a way to save money; more importantly, it opens my eyes, and leads me into the real world of the UK life. It offers me a great opportunity to know more people and realistic life in the UK. This is also the reason why I am here, to learn something that I cannot get from books. In the following 10 months, I'll still host and travel by CS, and look forward to know more cool guys.
Cheers

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

being helpful for my students

Teach, Learn, Share

I definetely believe here is a university of CouchSurfing, a school where everyone's a student and everyone's a teacher. Surfing isn't just be about a place to sleep. It's about exchange. From esoteric knowledge to practical skills, everyone has special knowledge that others will benefit from knowing. And I will be wholely devoted to it.
