About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been to a bunch of countries visiting people I met in the US. Many of them at summer camp - through the Camp America Program. I have found visiting a place with a local is always more interesting. I have also always enjoyed showing friends around New York when they visit. It lets me see my home city in new ways. I hope to meet some interesting people and maybe find a new place to visit. Right now my job doesn't allow for much extended travel time, so I'm only looking to host. I would also be interested in meeting some new people from nearby who will be in NYC for a night or two.

Interests

Lots of things, art, parks, zoo/aquarium, live music, any place that will give me alcohol

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Grateful Dead, Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed, Smashing Pumpkins, Johnny Cash, Gram Parsons, Sia, Elvis Costello, Van Morrison, Kanye West, First Aid Kit, Phish, Bill Joel, Alabama Shakes.....

Books: The Brothers Karamazov -Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Invisible Cities - Italo Calvino, Franny and Zooey - J.D. Salinger, Walden Two -B. F. Skinner, Frankenstein - Mary Shelley, everything by David Sedaris.

Movies: too many to try. TV: Game of Thrones, news, cartoons

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time, when I found that reporter Lois Lane had been killed in a landslide caused by Lex Luthor, I flew around the earth really fast, against the rotation, and turned back time to save her. Or I might have seen that in a movie. Either way, it was a long time ago.

One time, I drove around NYC all day in a cop car with Arnold Schwarzenegger. That one's true, there's an explanation for it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about buildings, art, and NY history and useless science facts. I'll probably tell you a lot, whether or not you're interested. I used to be a personal trainer and track coach. I can balance two toothpicks tip to tip. I can not help explain how Donald Trump became our President.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, England, France, Netherlands, Scotland, Slovakia
