ABOUT ME

I like to start a day not knowing how or where it will end! I love to see how different people live, and to meet people who share my sense of wonder and respect for the immense diversity of the human experience!

I like to know what people are thinking! I like to have in-depth conversations with people about our lives, current events, philosophical questions, silly everyday things, etc. Not in an intense way, just laid-back conversation, over a beer or a nice glass of wine!

I love music. Many different kinds, like rock, jazz, and different types of Latino music, but especially traditional American folk and blues! This last sort of music mesmerizes me because it speaks about every single aspect of life. So this is the music I play, mostly on guitar and harmonica, sometimes piano.

I love nothing more than sharing music with other people so if you want to hear or if you want to play together, either would bring me great enjoyment! I think it's a great way for people to connect.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have surfed one person's couch in Paris and it was great! I also attend meetings of the CS group in Colmar, which has allowed me to meet other couchsurfers in my area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far just one, a couple weeks ago, I found a couch last minute to stay in Paris, at the beginning of a crazy, totally unplanned journey that eventually let me to Morocco and Spain. The person I stayed with in Paris was great! See below.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I like stories, so in terms of music, books, and movies, I like things that will take me from a beginning to an end, emotionally, verbally, visually. I like things that make me feel, that remove me from myself so I can look in from the outside.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Sailed across lake Erie on a tall ship! Stood on the temple of Poseidon at Sounio and watched the sun set from the southernmost point on mainland Greece. More recently, rode through the streets of Marrakech on the back seat of a motorbike driven by a street vendor whom I had just met.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I could teach you about the roots of the best American music; I could teach you to play guitar, piano, percussion, if we have some instruments! I can teach English! Or about the stuff I learned in college, I guess...

I want to learn more instruments and share music with people. How to dance. Mostly though I want to learn about things that I didn't even know I wanted to learn about!
