About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm here because I want to meet people. I've had an account for a while, but never hosted anyone nor been hosted by anyone, and it's something I'm quite keen to try. I've heard many stories and I think the best thing about travelling is meeting people, and this sounds like a fantastic way to do it.

ABOUT ME

I'm a man who has lived in many different places in the last few years, hopping mainly between the UK, Spain and Chile. I spent just over 3 years in Chile and have just got back home. I'm currently figuring out my next move.

I love to travel and learn new things about the places I go to. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing a beer/coffee, seeing the sights and learning about the quirkier details of a place. I am a keen football fan, Fulham FC is my team. I also enjoy international cinema and trying new food and generally hanging out.

PHILOSOPHY

I think life is short and you should make the most of it. It is important to get as much fulfilment from life as possible. Everyone has their own ways of doing that and it is important to not only respect but to embrace each other's differences, as well as our similarities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've never hosted anyone or been hosted but I have been to Couchsurfing events in Chile when I was living there to meet people. They're a great way to get to know people with whom you have something in common. I think

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

At the time of writing, none. I have met let lots of Couchsurfers and enjoyed hanging out with them

Interests

I like learning about foreign stuff. I studied languages at uni, and I thoroughly enjoyed discovering things about these new cultures. I particularly appreciate comedy, whether it be on television, in books or any other form. I like watching football and sport in general. I like watching films of all genres and I enjoy sightseeing and visiting museums. I am open to most new interests. If you like, there must be something good about it, right?

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - indie, rock, electro, some folk, some pop. I'll try anything once.

Films - I will watch films of any genre, but I've recently taken more of an interest in international films (i.e not British or American) The films I have enjoyed the most in life (so far)are Home Alone, About a Boy, L'auberge espagnole, The Hunt, El Secreto de Sus Ojos.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered as an interpreter at the London Olympics

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching non-native speakers of English new idioms and ways of expressing themselves. I also like to learn new expressions in other languages (or different dialects of English). I can teach you how to swear in Spanish.

I like telling people interesting pieces of information that they would otherwise not find out.

I'm always interesting in learning about new people and the places they're from. If you can play the guitar and you can give me any tips, that's always greatly appreciated.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I promise to be a well-behaved, respectful guest. I am very open and would love to hang out if you have the time, but if you're busy, I can entertain myself. While I stay with you I can make you some food, take your dog for a walk (if you have one). We like to share a good time, some good conversation and the occasional terrible joke.

Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
