ABOUT ME

I am Joy Kim( Korean name : Yesol Kim) from Korea starting traveling around the world since Nov 11th 2014.
Personally, I am outgoing people oriented person and like new people and experience and throw myself into uncertain situation and see how I can be changed and affected.
I always wanted go on more adventures. Be around good energy. Connect with people, learn new thing and grow instead of being stuck with Korea. Now I would to live the life of your dreams.

When I was in Korea, I was supporting Samsung foreign employee to adapt to Korea life also during weekend I was working at adventure Korea to guide foreigner to various Korea attraction and festival for over 2 years.

Thanks for my work environment, I have chance to meet about 100 foreigners from all around the countries and I find delight in difference from each countries which break my stereotyped Korean thinking. But despite all the people I have met from different view of life, I can’t help keep following Korea standard pattern required for each age, such as should get married within 2 years and even though i am not satisfied job, I should work at least 4 year for my career blablabla .

But some point, I got to realized what is the point to being settled at early age, decide to get out of my comfort zone and follow my dream, which is world travel~!!!

Everything I’ve ever done, ever thought, ever experienced, and ever felt, has led me up to this moment in my life. And after accumulating and culminating it, all I can say is, “Ahhhhh!

Of course It is scary and difficult to leave everything behind, but I know every travel I’ve ever done, ever experienced, and ever felt, has led me up to this moment in my life. And after accumulating and culminating it, all I can say is, “Ahhhhh!

So, I am more excited and curious how I would be changed after one year travel.

The thing I priority of my life is experience, people and love
So below three things are my philosophies.

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.
If you would be loved, love and be loveable
Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me

Interests

Of course travel and people!

I believe travel is important to broaden horizons, to help understand that we are all citizens of one world with very diverse backgrounds, opportunities and histories. I also just love to see new places and to experience the beauty, food and people of different regions as well. Loveeeeeeee all the food. I am sure you can’t imagine how small Asian girl can eat that much food at once.

Also, I am pretty much interested in everything, Salsa, Taking a picture, extreme sports, MTB, scuba diving, beauty, career, family blabla

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Going scuba diving when I was 11 years old
( I was youngest person to go scuba diving in Korea at that time. That was my father’s dream!!!! I was just sacrificial lamb  haha )
- Acting in a performance as drunken drug addicts housewife on the main stage in Michigan technological university in America.

-Giving a presentation about Life in Korea to 100 foreigner 15 times and turn them on Korea culture.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I am long-termed backpacker, I am afraid to say that I don’t have that much things to give you in a material way . but for sure, there are things I can offer you as below

1. Korea Information!
-Since I have guide and Korea life counselor work experience for foreigner living in Korea.
I believe I would give lots of interesting info about Korea
2. Travel episode and I learn from each culture.
3. Postcard with me wearing Korean queen traditional clothes
