CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy living, help others do the same
ABOUT ME
We have more hobbies than we usually have nights in the week... we do renaissance-era reenactment in the SCA, which justifies fencing, costuming, leatherworking, metalwork, fiber arts, storytelling, country & court dance, and camping out with our friends on a regular basis in a canvas pavilion with a half-ton of gear. Backpacking it's not.
Living in Santa Barbara, we have our fill of hiking, running on the bluffs, beach time, and occasional diving. Lately we've gotten heavily interested in strategic boardgaming and collected a few dozen games.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We try to travel internationally every couple of years, and enjoy it much more when we have friends abroad. Certainly hoping CS makes it easier to find those folks.
We're happy to host travelers when it fits in our schedule, but we have the best guest room in our circle of friends, so it's often full.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My (Jon) trips to England and Wales have mostly been hosted by friends from college, and I've often enjoyed them more than hotel stays on the continent (where we know fewer people).
Our last trip (to Switzerland), we spent a day in Lausanne playing games with fellow geeks met on the net (at boardgamegeek.com)... it turned out to be the best opportunity we had to get to meet Swiss folks.
Interests
We're geeks with a wide range of hobbies... history, games, gardening, crafts, tech gadgetry, etc. (see the "describe yourself" bit)
