Single Mom to Amazing, Funny & Brilliant 11 yr old boy! We have been traveling full time for almost 3 years, with our first year and 3 months spent seeing the Pacific Northwest in an R.V. We traveled from Santa Barbara, CA up the coast to Portland OR and workamped, so we traded work for free accommodations. This lit the fire for travel in both our souls and now we have gone international, which has been a life long dream of mine! We are a world-schooling family and we are pretty psyched to see everything, everywhere and meet everyone!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A good friend of mine in a world-schooling group on Facebook hosted us when we first arrived in D.R. and she had many wonderful experiences through couch surfing, and even found hosts who were open to taking families, so I was very excited to see if our small family could have the same wonderful experience!

Interests

Travel, writing, art, history, world culture and more travel. I love to take my time and truly explore the places we visit, making friends with locals and getting the inside scoop on where to hang out, where to hike, where the best beaches are and of course, where the best food is!

I also love being a mom to my kid, allowing him to explore, find his own interests, research what he finds fascinating and encourage him to try new things, even if he's scared!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is my soul! I'm a deadhead, full out - traveled with the band and everything! I live for a good music festival and raved my ass off in the early 90's! Reggae music is the breath of my being and dancing is the lifeblood of my heart! Music is everything, all the time, in every way! Oh, did I mention I love music!

All kinds of movies from chick flicks to Boondock Saints - I have broad tastes in all entertainment! Books are second only to music, the best book of all time is Inspiration Sandwich by SARK! And i love classics as well as new age, i just love to hear other people's stories and how their experiences shaped them.

I'm a bit of a software genius, I can get inside a program and figure it out quickly and efficiently and then teach you, I did this a ton during my many years as an executive assistant! I can also teach a ton of online tools; social media, marketing & web design.

I wanna learn everything, the history of places, the history of cultures and art - I freakin just love to learn - I will research anything that puts a bug of interest in my ear and I love it! I wanna share this life, this glorious, silly, crazy, fun experience with my kid and anyone else who wants to join our party!

A love of life and learning! A unique perspective on the world; I grew up in the Bible Belt, the deep south but was born a rebel! I rebelled against the racism in my community, my extended family & my home, against misogyny from my coaches, my school and my workplaces, against homophobia and against "normal"! I found solace & acceptance in San Francisco as a teenager and this gift opened my soul to "new age" knowledge, which is really just buried universal knowledge!

My kid - he's pretty fantastic and he is a gift I love sharing with others!
