About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to always learn something new and exciting everyday

ABOUT ME

I am a happy-go-lucky girl from Nebraska that enjoys theatre, reading, and constantly learning. I make it my goal to start and end each day with a smile, and I rarely fail at this!

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is best summarized by The West Wing (one of the best shows ever produced):
"This guy's walkin' down a street when he falls in a hole. The walls are so steep he can't get out. A doctor passes by and the guy shouts up, "Hey you! Can you help me out?" The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole, and moves on. Then a priest comes along and the guy shouts up, "Father, I'm down in this hole; can you help me out?" The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole and moves on. Then a friend walks by. "Hey, Joe, it's me. Can ya help me out?" And the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, "Are ya stupid? Now we're both down here." The friend says, "Yeah, but I've been down here before and I know the way out. "
-Leo McGarry (West Wing)
This sums up my philosophy because I believe that taking risks to help the people you care about is the most important thing you can do. People are more important than jobs, finances, and personal gain.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couchsurfing and am excited to get involved. Because I am currently studying abroad I am unable to host at this moment, but when I have my own place I fully intend to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have not had any experience yet, but I have heard that it is a great experience.

Interests

I am interested in learning something new each day. I am currently teaching myself American Sign Language. In my spare time I love to go out and have a nice time with friends. But I am just as content staying home with a good book (I work at a library) and some tea. I write theatre scripts and am interested in talking about theatre to anyone who wants to! I also love to learn about different countries and I am a pretty good listener.

I have gone skydiving in the summer of 2009, and it was the most thrilling thing I have ever done.
The most amazing thing I have ever seen is simply the unconditional love that my family has for each other. It is remarkable.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach someone how to make Starburst Casserole! (It's basically just melted Starburst candy, but it's delicious).
I would love to learn anything about other countries that I possibly can. I look at life with a clean slate each day, and I am open to learning anything new.
I can share any information I have about my own country (USA).
