ABOUT ME

We lived in Dublin, Ireland for a year when were first started on Couchsurfing. Now we live in Indianapolis. Eric directs before and after school programs for the YMCA and is going to school to become a school administrator. I work as a STEP services facilitator in Special Education. We haven't done a lot of traveling lately but we definitely miss it and we enjoy meeting new people and hearing their travel stories.

PHILOSOPHY

I love learning anything and everyone I meet can teach me something about the world. That is why couch surfing is so great. I'm a city girl and I love the excitement of being around traffic and lights and lots of people.
Eric is definitely a country boy. He doesn't mind laying out in a field where no one is around for miles. I like the smell of wet concrete after it rains in the city. Eric thinks air tastes good in the country.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We donated money once but as we are both working in education so we don't have lots to give away. We will most likely be participating by having our place open to visitors.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We hosted 8 people when we lived in Dublin and had a great time meeting all the new people.

Interests

We often have long discussions about moral philosophy. He was a secondary school teacher of Morality in and has a Masters in Philosophy. I have mine in Medieval History. We are open minded, and while we consider ourselves Catholic, we love to meet people with different beliefs, as long as they are respectful of differing opinions. I(Siobhan)enjoy painting, sketching, sculpting or creating anything really. Will sketch portraits for couch!

Music, Movies, and Books

Siobhan: independent films,foreign(non american)films, good classic award-winning movies, history pieces
any music, anything with great instrumentals
horror/thrillers like Steven King books, Misery, Gerald's Game, The Shining; I just finished Cujo; I like Running with Scissors, Fight Club, Lord of the Flies, Of Mice and Men, I have also enjoyed some Khaled Hosseini's books, The Kite Runner etc., the DaVinci Code is exciting but it is not history!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Eric had open-heart surgery, which was amazing because then he didn't die. Siobhan has done cool stuff too but it is hard to beat not dying.

Teach, Learn, Share

Siobhan can teach random history facts or some Latin. Eric can explain complicated theological concepts...or we could try to think of something less nerdy. We'd like to learn anything you may have to teach.
