Part-time artist, part-time student, full-time dreamer...

Small town boy with big dreams
I was first introduced to books at the age of four. I remember walking excitedly to the local library wondering which book would be my next inspiration. All kinds of books-- about adventure, history, science, biographies. All those were set in locations all around the world. Far, far away from the small town I was raised in. I longed to see, smell, taste and experience all those countries. I dreamed that I was the main character discovering and exploring all these wonderful places I had read so much about. Of someday going to those places. The world was so huge, especially for a small-town-boy; I wanted to experience it all! My big love = travel.

I believe there is more to life than just surviving. We are here to learn, to grow, to thrive, to evolve and to make a tangible difference. We must have the courage to follow our dreams. The universe is abundant and will provide and keep us safe.

Others would describe me as adventurous, caring, passionate, concerned, moody, crazy, generous, full-of-life. I am relaxed, easy going and don't take myself too seriously.

I am a part-time artist and love to bring a canvas to life.
I am also currently studying and working in finance in the capital, South Africa. But I plan to leave it all behind, to fulfill my life-long dream of travelling the world!! Soon- I hope :) Hold-thumbs¦

[update] I have finally quit my job!!!! Some-days I wake up feeling nervous and anxious at the uncertainty that lies ahead. Other days I can't believe that I have finally taken the first step-- often referred to as the hardest step. Trusting in the process of life. Trusting that the universe has my back.
Now I am ready to follow my heart, live my dream and to be free...

I sure do hope that our paths cross on this journey.

And so it begins............

PHILOSOPHY

There is more to life then merely surviving.
We need to be alive, thrive, enjoy, live and make a difference.
Be in the moment.
Live everyday as if it's your last.
Do one thing a day that scares you.

CS is all about making connections worldwide, it is all about establishing relationships between likeminded people across the world, it is all about improving cultural understanding and developing lasting friendships. It is most definitely not about finding a free place for the night.

I have been an avid reader for most of my life and try to read about 3 books a month. I read everything that I can put my hands on, from adventure to biographies, classics of literature to spirituality, fiction, personal development, art, travel, thrillers, etc...

I do not read newspapers or watch the news as I feel that there's too much sensationalism and this avenue does not provide an accurate or truthful view of the world we live in...

Some of my favourite movies: Lord Of The Rings, Avatar, 3 Idiots, Finding Nemo, Into the Wild,...

I listen to most types of music- depending on my mood. I really enjoy being introduced to new types of music in the places I visit around the world... I'm really loving dubstep, chillstep at the moment

I have had many incredible, mind-blowing, a-mazing experiences thus far in my life and feel very blessed...

Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for charity, walking through and above the clouds and the magical moment of reaching the highest point in Africa!!!!

Being at one with the unbelievable Amazon jungle in Brazil!!

A few other things:
-- Sleeping in a tent amongst wild animals in the middle of the Serengeti
-- Devouring the most divine melt-in-your- mouth pizza while in Rome
-- Being blown away by the gorgeous Alps from the ground and the air
-- the strangeness that is Cappadoccia
-- Seeing Europe and Asia concurrently, while savouring the incredible city of contrasts that is Istanbul
-- Savouring the most spectacular sunset in Santorini, Greece
-- running my first marathon in the "worlds most beautiful marathon"
