ABOUT ME

I'm a Shamanic Healer, Artist, Poet, Bare-Footed Soul Dancer, a Philosopher at heart, Star Traveler, and a bit of a free-spirit. Exploring new lands and people are my fuel for the soul. Helping people find their way to natural healing makes me feel whole. Experiencing other cultures by jumping right in with their ways of living is both thrilling and satisfying for me. I don't go on vacations, I go to learn something and/or be helpful in some way.

PHILOSOPHY

To borrow from Alanis Morrisette, "I am a citizen of the planet" and am intrigued and enthusiastic about taking a little part in the whole world. I know I will not see the whole world, but I cannot wait to get out there and try! I am also a perpetual student and I never want to quit learning! I'm doing my part in the gradual change from typical Western medicine to a more holistic and natural view, as well. I am focusing on hands-on work to increase my society's use of touch and energy for healing, as well as in daily life, as all humans need it to prosper and grow. I am a Spirit and Soul Whisperer.

We need to love our planet and ourselves, so sustaining both is important, take only what is needed and give back where it is needed, find balance. And to borrow from my CS friend, Bea, I believe in the universal balance.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I search out groups and people to meet. I used to meet with couchsurfers visiting Boston and accompany them to various sites here, now I live in the sacred Smokey Mts of North Carolina. I answer questions emailed to me and used to attend the weekly CS meetings for the Boston area. I also search for couches/people in the countries I travel to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Great experience with my first official hosts while couchsurfing in Montréal July2009! They made me feel right at home and I will continue to keep in contact with them.

In the past, I also stayed with a friend's family in Israel, but it was not official "couchsurfing." I was able to get a taste of the Jewish culture there that I would not have been able to get if I had traveled there on my own. Her family was able to give us personal tours of famous places and attractions, that I would not have been able to get on my own either. I am very grateful for that experience.

Centres d'intérêt

I love art and nature, local bar visiting, maybe a little dancing, nature hikes, yoga, local foods/cuisine, a little wine/local beers now and then, walking, meandering through the streets of new places with a map in my pocket, botanical gardens, zoos, beach time, live music, collecting music, meditation, healthy/organic food, exercise, big time animal lover! Shamanic breathwork and Soul work.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Music is one of my all time favorite things in life. I do a lot of collecting of music and I love World music. I also love reggae, jazz, pop, salsa, merenegue, and all Latin, drumbeats, African, and folk...just to barely name a few of my favorites.

Movies: I prefer to watch comedies for movies now since I find enough depressing stuff in the real world and dont need to perpetuate that in my free time. However, I love all of Spanish director, Almodovar's films, they are wonderful and right up my alley. Volver has to be my favorite movie right now.

Books: I read a lot of massage books, some philosophy, some mystic, some native american, and some healing sorts of books. I like sci-fi/fantasy sometimes.

I can teach basic knitting, drawing, painting, collage, clay sculpture, map-reading (i'm an expert), Spanish, English, Meditation and self-massage/stretching. I'd love to learn more cooking skills, wine-food pairing, maybe a little sailing, gardening...what else you got? I cannot think right now, but I love to learn!
