About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get across the Atlantic so I can start my new job!
ABOUT ME
I am a curious, friendly guy with a passion for learning. I am trying to see more of the world now that I have finished grad school. To that end, I will be working as a visiting lecturer at the University of Cape Town in South Africa for one year (and maybe more!).
PHILOSOPHY
I am lucky to make a living reflecting on various BIG QUESTIONS that are very important to me, such as: What is morality? What is right and wrong? Do people have free will? Is there such a thing as a soul? Etc. Socrates said that "an unreflective life is not worth living," and I agree!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now I would just like to try surfing. After I get settled in to my new home in Cape Town, I will open up my couch to travelers just as other hosts have opened their homes to me.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None so far. I'm brand new to this!
Interests
I enjoy dancing in various Latin dance styles--including salsa on1, salsa on2, salsa rueda, merengue, bachata, and cumbia. Being that I am a professional philosopher, I spend most of my time reading and I love it. I'm also very interested in international human rights issues.

Music, Movies, and Books
Mostly books on ethics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Machu Picchu on a rainy day. I walked among the clouds!
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach a lesson in philosophy or salsa. If one doesn't please you, maybe the other will.
