My favorite part of traveling is meeting people. I started to figure out I felt really isolated by hotels and private transportation, so I've been trying to lean a lot more on more personable ways to get around. I'd much rather have a neat conversation with a stranger than talk to a receptionist at a front desk, so Couchsurfing seemed perfect!

Also, anyone willing to take a complete stranger into their house has to be incredible - I've heard such great things about hosts, I just had to try it.

Music:
I'm pretty flexible, but tend to like classic rock, Hozier and modern pop-folk analogues, A Cappella, classical, and electronic folk music. But whatever you're into, I'm pretty easy to please!

Movies:
I haven't had much time to watch movies - I've been distracting myself in other ways - but I'm pretty flexible. I love tacky action movies, dumb comedies, and mind-bending thrillers. Again, though, I'm down for anything.

Books:
Man, it's been too long since I've read a lot, but I used to be pretty avid. The Alchemist, Stranger in a Strange Land, and Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman have all been my "favorite book" at different points of my life, if

Once I sang on Broadway!*

*.....ok so this is technically true, but it's way less crazy than it sounds. My a cappella group miraculously advanced to international** finals this year, which was held in NY city. The theater we performed in? The Beacon Theater, which is on Broadway!!***

**Technically speaking, at least. There was one British group! That's it though.

***Again - it was on Broadway. In the main theater area? Not so much. We were uptown quite a ways from Times Square. Still felt pretty special to be there though!
