About Me

Heya all!

I'm an animator/cartoonist living in the west end of Toronto. I'm a big 'ol cartoon nerd, but get me on a pair of roller skates or a climbing wall and you'll see I'm a secret jock too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My best travel experiences have always involved staying with friends and meeting new people.

Now that I'm able to travel further and see more of the world, I'd love to see it in a similar way. I'm new to couch surfing, but my more traveled friends only have the loveliest stories to tell!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Bjork, the Strokes, Slothrust, Jeff Rosenstock and Pup (TO hometown pride!) - I love punk and dreamy sounds in equal measure

Hot Rod is my comfort comedy, but The Lobster, Paths of Glory, Everything Everywhere all at Once, I Lost my Body, and Mind Game all did something wonderful to my brain and live there to this day

I love Kafka's short stories, along with anything Oscar Wilde ever wrote. Was recently introduced to House of Leaves and I'm transfixed. If comics count I need to include Octopus Pie, one of the greatest works of coming of age art ever to grace the internet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to Mexico with my archery coach to train at Olympic outdoor ranges. Traveling around from Acapulco to Guadalajara and staying in a new place every night was an amazing whirlwind of a week.

Sneaky second: I was recently in Philadelphia and was blown away by the Magic Garden mosaics as well as the Mutter Museum. Was not expecting either to be so beautiful and celebratory of the human experience as they were. Cannot recommend them enough if you're ever passing through.

Teach, Learn, Share

How to do a headstand!

Or likely anything having to do with animation! It's fun when an art-form is only around 100 years old. Means most of it has been documented!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to help cook, and am of course more than happy to help with any housework.

If you'd like, I'd be very happy to draw you a cartoon of yourself to mark our meeting :)
