About Me

This June I graduated with my masters from the University of Iceland. Since then I've been traveling and working, looking for a more permanent job. Most recently I've been in Brussels, hoping to land a job with an EU funded agency in conservation or policy development. That's the boring stuff out of the way.

I enjoy playing music, listening to music and podcasts, rock climbing, sharing travel stories, and carpentry. My most recent job was as a trash man and handy man. I like education and learning about how cities impact the lives of its citizens. Brussels is a great place to do this.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet people from all walks of life and sometimes the people with the least have the most to offer. Whether you can afford other accommodation or not, CouchSurfing has a great way of equalizing people and giving people who may not have the means the opportunity to travel. I also believe that experiencing people from different walks of life, with different life experiences, will always bring more clarity about the human experience. Lastly, it's very hard to dislike someone once you know their story.

Music, Movies, and Books

Kurt Vonnegut, C.S. Lewis. Easy listening, acoustic and indie music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving and bungie jumping in the same day. I was still dizzy from the former when I took the leap.

Teach, Learn, Share

My most recent pet project is learning how to use the city as a classroom to discuss sustainability. If we're going to tackle climate change, we should understand how our lives and the places we live interact with the natural world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing travel stories and moments in life that changed the direction of our lives. I also enjoy simple small talk and camaraderie. I love playing music with others and making up stupid songs. I love learning about peoples lives and hobbies. I also am no stranger to home maintenance if there is a small project that needs done.
