About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Run screaming from the 'American Dream'
ABOUT ME
I'm the kind of guy who doesn't like filling in boxes labeled "all about you." I'm a very open minded person, ready for new experiences and new friends. I can be a party person; I can be a chill person. I have a newfound healthy fear of absinthe.
PHILOSOPHY
Nothing is certain. Life is beautiful. Don't take life too seriously. And eat your vegetables.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now I'm looking to experience as much of NZ as possible while living on the cheap, taking casual employment where it comes up, but I hope to give back as soon as I've got a couch to call my own. The idea that a site like this exists and functions warms my altruistic heart.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't have a couch at this point, or a home for that matter, so unfortunately I'm just in it for the surfing at the time being. I've surfed a couple of couches here in NZ and had a very positive experience with each of them.
Interests
Tramping New Zealand, learning to surf, playing guitar very poorly, reading and writing, trying to avoid looking like a tourist, your couch.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm open to anything created with passion, honestly, but I certainly have some favorites. Movies: Indiana Jones (all of 'em,) Groundhog Day, Animal House, Rear Window,Pulp Fiction... I could go on and on...
Music: Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Sigur Ros, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Ani Difranco, Damien Rice, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, BB King...
Books: Salinger, Hemingway, Kerouac, Nabokov, Steinbeck, and Calvin and Hobbes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I tricked my high school biology teacher into letting us watch south park in class, and I've yet to top it as the proudest moment of my life. I brought in a "really awesome national geographic documentary about anacondas" that, just as the first snake strikes at an unsuspecting boar, cut to the opening credits of the south park episode I had taped over it. The look of shock on Mrs. Ridenour's face was priceless.
Teach, Learn, Share
In beerpong, a perfect arc is a necessity for excellence. Take a deep breath before each shot, and remember to focus on your follow-through.
