About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Whimsy

ABOUT ME

I am an avid reader who spends a lot of time thinking about books and literature. I am very open minded and love meeting people/ trying new things/ eating new, interesting food. I tend to consume media in the art-house variety. I hope to carve out an aesthetic sensibility that continues to change and be changed by the things around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Beginning couch surfer. I will leave your place immaculate and will come bearing small gifts. I don't want to party, just to meet and possibly hang out, and go off on my own for some solitary exploring.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, but hoping to become engaged in the couchsurfing community!

Interests

As I traveller, I want to aesthetically experience the place I'm in. Eat the food, look through local eyes as much as possible, see art, visit institutions, people-watch.

Music, Movies, and Books

Have recently been reading Middle English romances, love Saul Bellow, Vladimir Nabokov, Anton Chekov, Marianne Moore poems, Fred Astaire movies, Shoegaze/folk/indie/roots/jazz/baroque/noize/conceptual.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have spent a lot of time exploring the trails and woods of Washington State. At this point, San Francisco is my favorite city, but I have yet to see much of the east coast side of things. Vancouver BC is a great spot to have really good food and enjoy the wonders of urban planning. Costa Rica is the furthest south I've been. It's gorgeous.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to read and love talking about books. From Victorian novels to David Foster Wallace and Orhan Pamuk, I think talking about books is great because it creates a plane to talk about ideas. I love to cook and bake and have a pretty substantial knowledge of ingredients in the gourmet variety and how to use them.
