About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have so much fun that I look back on this life and know it was well-spent.

ABOUT ME

I'm an optimistic dude. I try to enjoy every moment in life, and learn from the not so pleasant ones.

I've traveled to 5 of the 7 continents: N. America, S. America, Australia/New Zealand, Asia/Middle East and Europe. My goal is to have visited all 7.

I enjoy a fast-paced life but sometimes you just need to mellow out and enjoy the little things.

I am an artist, I play the drums and ukulele, I sing (in the shower, my car and helmet), I've painted, drawn, used a pottery wheel and more...

I've worked in many different careers including being a traveling salesman, welding in oil refineries, installing tile, marketing a chiropractor and other miscellany.

I love adventure and adrenaline, from high-speeds on my motorcycle (not so much anymore) to flying airplanes, cliff-diving or running downhill hoping I don't trip.

My passions would have to be music and the pursuit of happiness.

Life is one big game to be enjoyed. Want to share it with me?

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to get the most out of it.

I live with a high-standard of ethics and all of my regular friends are naturally the same.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I don't have a home of my own to help out CS'ers currently, but at some point in the future I will.

I've shared CS to many of my friends and several of them have used it with success.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed in San Antonio, TX and Carlsbad, NM plus Christchurch, New Zealand.

All 3 CS trips were fantastic, I got to meet great local people, see local sights and enjoy the food. These have definitely been highlights in my life.

Interests

Motorcycles, ukulele, drumming, surfing, snowboarding, dirt biking, music, mountaintop views, yoga, weightlifting, eating healthy and spicy foods, kidding around and anything most anything new and exciting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dolphins swimming parallel to myself walking on the shore.

Glowing little sea creatures swimming around a cruise boat near Baja Mexico.

Going through Carlsbad Cavern in New Mexico.

Driving by myself from Clearwater, FL to San Jose, CA.

Tutoring middle school students in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I had heard that the school I was working in was the worst middle school in all of LA.

Riding on dirtbikes since I was 6 years old and then going to street bikes at 18.

WWOOFing in the Australian Bush. (Google WWOOF if you don't know if it.)

Climbing Frans Josef Glacier in New Zealand.

Exploring Milford Sound in New Zealand.

Traveling all around the south-eastern regions of OZ.

Train ride through Holland.

Visiting a plantation in Louisiana.

Exploring New Orleans, LA.

I plan on experiencing much, much more.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I know how to cook a bit from living on my own. I do quite a bit of it but I am not the best judge of own works. I hear from friends that my food smells and tastes great.

I know how to drive stick shift transmissions I regularly drive motorcycles.

I still remember how to skateboard a bit.

I can help optimize some minor things on computers. And, I have learned how to build simple websites using HTML. Javascript...well, I am still working on that.

I can generally fix small things around the home just from observing the scene for example, basic plumbing, gardening, carpentry, etc.

I have an open mind and an open heart. I will listen and learn to the best of my ability.
