CURRENT MISSION

To be fabulously masterful, or masterfully fabulous, whichever really. To boldly go where no one has gone before. In reality, just trying to slowly but surely knock out my more immediate life goals which are numerous and quite varying.

ABOUT ME

I am a self proclaimed writer all though I have doo-doo to show for it. I am currently making a go of teaching English in beloved Thailand, mainly because I was in Thailand before for school and fell in love with the country. But also because I do believe in teaching to a degree, in the sense that knowledge is power and English really is the global language, at this present juncture in time/space, that is. Also because learning English better should help with writing, right?

PHILOSOPHY

If you really want my personal opinion I think that we as a global society are on the verge of a transformation in collective consciousness that will break out of the constraints of the dominant philosophies of the past. Whereas a lot of Eastern philosophy emphasizes selflessness in terms of how we treat others. I think, and I know this is incredibly hippy dippy, that a lot of the environmental movements will bring a new aspect of this selflessness that goes beyond anthropomorphic thought. I think, ideally that is, Zen thinkers would agree that no-self is not limited to an anthropological world, and it is impossible to do so. Now most ecologists recognize the same truth, that we are intimately connected and intertwined with our environment. The paradox is that any type of philosophy that speaks for the non-anthropomorphic world will have to be in anthropomorphic symbols, i.e. language, and thus how can it be non-anthropomorphic? So therefore this non-anthropomorphic philosophy will be something we cannot imagine yet. Or we all die in one of the myriad doomsday scenarios.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Dabbled some in hosting but realized my living sit. is too unpredictable. I vow to host again as soon as possible. So far I have never surfed.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great experience hosting a couple from the Czech Republic. I learned some interesting facts about the origins of Pilsner beer and felt good sharing my knowledge of Mae Sariang Thailand.
