About Me

A beautiful aspect about having lived in Calgary for my entire life is that it has allowed me to periodically expand my interests and passions very easily. The city is very accessible to all forms of activity and vocations, whether it be sports, being in the outdoors or volunteering for an organization. For example, I was recently able to take a 10 day Vipassana course; I had no previous experience with any meditation techniques previously, nor was I ever interested in meditation until recently, and wanted to get involved. Experiences like that, and others remind me how much I appreciate being able to live and play in Alberta/British Columbia, were we have such beautiful landscapes and outdoor playgrounds to spend our time.

Born, raised, schooled and working now in Calgary as an Electrical Engineer. I spend a lot of time outdoors in the the summer rock climbing, scrambling/hiking, camping/backpacking in the rocky mountains. Winter time I'll be training indoors bouldering/rock climbing, snowboarding/skiing at Canadian Ski resorts near Calgary. I also find myself in the gym at least a few times a week keeping my flexibility and cardio in check, and then staying fit with periodic regimented fitness and nutrition programs.

I enjoy reading all kinds of sci-fi books, listen to electronic music, writing speeches for Toastmasters, figuring out how to use my camera, finding nice coffee shops, tasting all the delicious beers, and eating all kinds of food (I'm sure I will learn how to cook well one day).

And a new favorite, TRAVELING!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be traveling in Europe of the Summer/Fall of 2017 and it would be great if I could find some cities to couch surf in to enrich my travel experience. I have also seen the benefit of hosting folks from other countries (from friends) and would like to try it out someday in my own city.
