About Me

I'm a writer and an organizer, mostly in the "contemporary circus" field. Right now, I'm the Creative Director of Circus Now (www.circusnow.org) and about to start teaching through the University of the Arts in Stockholm. I also wrote a book -- The Ordinary Acrobat (http://www.amazon.com/The-Ordinary-Acrobat-Journey-Wondrous/dp/0307271722)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

The people. My experiences traveling as a couchsurfer have been always unexpected and interesting.

I've surfed and hosted. I helped teach juggling in Berlin, and once made an embarrassingly poor pasta salad for a Polish dinner party.

I've been hosted a couple of times, and surfed in Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, Lisbon, Porto, all of which were great experiences.

Circus, digital media, capoeira, tango, languages, screenwriting, cevapi, Errol Morris. Last night, a girl told me that they'd discovered a new force a few weeks ago, something "greater than gravity" that will "maybe change the future." I thought that was pretty interesting.

Music, Movies & Books

I just tried to get through The Known World but failed. The first half of East of Eden recently knocked me over. Murakami. Roth. Irwin Shaw. John McPhee. Loved the new Wells Tower. I tend to recommend George Saunders alot.

Movies....I'm on a Dardennes Brothers kick. I've seen There Will Be Blood a half-dozen times, including at the outdoor kino here. The Graduate makes me laugh every time. Lots of Jeunet. Fleck and Bodin. Tati. Kusterica.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be genuinely interested in learning some simple coin tricks. Or maybe some origami figures. Nothing fancy. Just something to impress the kids when I'm visiting relatives.

Countries I've Lived In

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Russian Federation, Serbia, United States
