About Me

Human being trying to make the most out of the living experience while he's still here.

Not in third person, more truthful and less cynical: Hi! I'm, Peter and I always have no idea what to write in the sections "About me" like this one. Hopefully you will learn something about me reading the rest of the page or while we meet in person, be it as a guest or a host :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I`m trying something new ever so often, and also I`ve been trying to meet some new people lately, so I think Couchsurfing is a perfect platform to do both.

Interests

I got probably unhealthy love for video game industry, even though I don't play a lot of the games lately. Kinda contradictory, I know... What else can I say? :)

I'm also a huge motorhead, with pretty big knowledge about cars, at least from some specific eras. Sometimes I try my strength in gokart racing, other times I go to some safe spaces known to me and try to learn some techniques like left foot braking and countering oversteer. Even my "One amazing thing I did" section here was mostly about my dream to see a couple of German car museums and to drive through their Autobahns. As you can see I take this part of my interests pretty seriously ;)

Rest of the hobbies, shortened: I'm a pretty beginner cook, but I can make some basic polish dishes, let's leave it at that. I learned to love cycling, so freeing and calming. Love me some gaming, car, comedy and Gimlet Media "type" podcasts. More about TV-shows and music below, if you're interested in my tastes. Shooting - I go to shooting ranges when my finances let me, so not much lately. It's an expensive hobby here. Karaoke - I'm pretty awful at it, and it is kinda funny to me, not so much for the people hearing this around me ;)

For the last year I've been trying to improve my social skills and also simply to make myself "better". Meaning going out more, trying new things (within reason, nothing too illegal :P ), meeting and talking to new people, meditating, learning to speak English better and travel more. Some things I do better, some worse, but we are all learning, right?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went on a roughly 2000 km round roadtrip alone, without using hotels or hostels, just sleeping inside a car, for like 4-5 days straight. From Warsaw through Wrocław, Dresden, Ingolstadt, Monachium, Stuttgart and straight back. Maybe not amazingly difficult, but any normal human being probably wouldn't want to try that. I probably won't do something like that again ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Comparing experiences, talking about nothing, going out to some interesting places, I can bring something good to eat and maybe even cook a little :)
