About Me

Hey! I'm a 21 year old, American exchange student spending my semester abroad in Paris! I grew up Los Angeles and was not able to travel, not until now at least!! I'm excited to to see as much of the world as I can and meet as many different and interesting people as I can!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get a real sense of the the countries that I visit and, while staying in hostel can be fun, I think that meeting and living with people that actually live in the country is immensely more rewarding for all those involved.

Interests

I'm studying Sociology and Political Economy, with a concentration in Sustainable Development (i.e. social sciences + environment). I'd like to one day work for US State Department or the UN and get to travel the world, in the short term though, I'm looking into working for some sort of environmental development firm, be it in the US or abroad. Apart from school, I love love love cinema, I could talk for hours about my favorite films and directors! I also enjoy hiking, travel, & interesting conversations!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite types of music depend on the current mood, I listen to hip-hop (Kanye, the Roots, Tribe Called Quest) but also lots of more alternative stuff (Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, Simon & Garfunkel)
For movies, the list is long, Lost in Translation, Almost Famous, City of God, Sin Nombre, Amorres Perros, Babel, Hunger, Shame, Apocalypse Now, Taxi Driver, Drive, etc..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving my hometown...
-I was the first in my family to go to college and leave my hometown, I was the first to travel to the East Coast, and now I'm the first to leave the country and see Europe. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to have experienced what I have, but I don't I want to stop, I want to continue to travel and experience different parts of the world. Next on my list in South America, then Southeast Asia!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe that my perspective on the world surprises people (I surprise myself). Hopefully, I can help dispel myths about travelling American students, all the while learning about others!
