Aspiring bicycle tourist! I spent a good chunk of the warm months of 2018 living off my home built touring bike in my home state of Ohio to prepare for a massive road trip across the entire US. Sadly, a previous knee injury put an end to that and I decided to settle down for the winter of 2018/2019.

I moved away from home to get a different perspective on life. I started a leather working business with a few good friends of mine to someday fund my dreams of world travel. I went Couch Surfing in the summer of 2018, and it's turned my entire life around for the better. I worke at a steakhouse part time, and spent the rest of my time learning new skills, working on projects, or attempting to relax. I love meeting new people and sharing stories. I've made wonderful friends everywhere I've traveled so far, and don't intend to stop. The bicycle is one of the most important things in my life. I plan to see much more of the world before I settle down.

In mid 2020, I bought my first proper new bicycle. A Trek FX3. I loaded it up with my old touring gear, converted it to an ebike, and plan to finally take that epic bike tour my knee stopped me from taking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people, especially those who love to travel. I am introverted and need much time to myself, but when I do want to hang out with people, I want to learn something about them and grow. I plan to explore the entire planet, and this community is one of the best ways to find a bit of guidance along the way.

My greatest passion is learning. I've always been obsessed with learning new things. I like libraries, books, and reading just about anything. Love audiobooks and a few podcasts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music:
I like all kinds, but particularly folk metal. Eluveitie is my favorite band these days, with Korpliklaani in the top few as well. Coheed and Cambria has become one of my favorite bands recently. Kamelot and Lindsey Stirling also make the top of the list. Heilung and Faun got me through some tough times during the whole Covid times.

Favorite Books:
I don't read much,but listen to audiobooks while I work.
The Harry Potter Series, Velocity by Dean Koontz, Inferno and The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, We Learn Nothing by Tim Kreider, Vagabonding by Rolf Potts, The Obstacle Is The Way by Ryan Holiday. Love The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series as well. The Discworld series is favorite of mine, particularly the first book "The Colour of Magic" by Terry Pratchet. I've been buying and reading books on ancient technology and rekindling one of my earliest passions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode my fully loaded touring bicycle over 100 miles in one day and lived on the road for months with almost no money.

I have too many odd talents to list. I can build computers and random electronics. I'm very good with bikes. Random animal facts. I have a very broad range of knowledge and am most passionate about the sharing of knowledge. Ask me anything about anything. If I don't know, I'll admit it and we could explore the topic together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always happy to help with chores, or anything at all. I like building and fixing things, and can help out with any projects you might have. I have a fair amount of knowledge regarding computers and technology. Anything you may want help with or to know, just ask. I'm also happy to help solve any random problems that arise.
