About Me

Hey, I’m Duygu. Born and raised in Turkey, currently calling Seattle home. I’m into good vibes, deep convos, and anything that involves food and music. If there’s a cozy kitchen, I’m probably in it—cooking something or just vibing with a cup of tea.

Not here just for a place to crash—Couchsurfing, for me, is about real human connection. I love meeting people who are open, kind, and a little curious about the world.

I’m the kind of person who laughs a lot, feels deeply, and always down for spontaneous plans. Let’s exchange stories, playlists, maybe even recipes—whatever feels right.

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of 90s–2000s rock—give me a moody guitar riff and I’m in.
Fav movies? Léon, Children of Men, Green Book.
I love Turkish novels, but Kafka’s The Metamorphosis will always have my heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to a completely new country on my own, without knowing anyone there. It was scary, messy, and full of unexpected turns—but it taught me more about myself than any comfort zone ever could. I’ve cried in empty rooms, laughed with strangers who became friends, and found strength in starting over (again and again). And I’d do it all over, just to feel that kind of growth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe everyone has something to teach, something to learn, and something to share. I love teaching what I know—whether it’s a recipe, a life lesson, or a fun fact about Turkish culture. I’m always eager to learn from others, especially when it comes to different perspectives, experiences, and stories.

Sharing is the heart of connection for me. Whether it’s a cup of coffee, a good book recommendation, or a song that’s been on repeat, I believe the best moments are the ones we give away.
