About Me

I'm Dvir, 21 years old from Rishon LeZion, Israel.
I live with my family (my parents, two sisters, a brother and a dog), currently work at a dog shelter and plan studying therapy dog training and handling.

Inspirational quote:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great way to both get to know people you probably wouldn't even meet elsewhere and see places you visit from a different prespective than you'd usually see when staying at hotels and I really wish to experience that.

Interests

I started playing the guitar when I was about 13 years old and I absolutely love it ever since. I try to play with people often and I love hearing good music for the first time.
I hate "wasting" good weather so when it is I take my dog out for as long as I can (he's playing with his doggy friends and I meet people so it's a win for both of us) and when it isn't (or when both my dog and I are tired) I enjoy watching movies, TV series, reading and spending time watching interesting videos on YouTube.
Also, about half a year ago I started volunteering weekly at dog adoption events held here in Rishon LeZion.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love many different genres of music and my playlist includes music of Andy Timmons, Gavin DeGraw, The Idan Raichel Project, Jimi Hendrix, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, AC/DC, Queen, Avenged Sevenfold, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pink Floyd, John Mayer, Alter Bridge, The Beatles, John Mayer, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Sting, Joe Bonamassa and much more.
Like in music, my taste in movies is also very diverse but I mostly enjoy comedies, animations and psychological thrillers. Some of the movies I've seen and enjoyed are Marley & Me, Pulp Fiction, Primal Fear, Inception, Shutter Island, Black Swan, Once, Leon, School of Rock, Amelie, Ted, Big Bad Wolves, Captain Phillips, Forrest Gump, Seven Pounds, Prisoners, Southpaw, Begin Again, Reservoir Dogs, and tons of Disney movies.
I love finding books I like and can't put down like Harlan Coben's thrillers, the Harry Potter series as well as the Hunger Games series, The fault in our stars, Ender's Game, some classics like The Catcher in the Rye and sometimes books written by Israeli authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's not really an amazing thing I've done but more an amazing experience: I've volunteered a few times at a place that hires people with all kinds of disabilities (blindness, deafness, autism and intellectual or physical disabilities) to manufacture different products. It's an awesome place that not only hires them but also takes care of them in many ways (for example: they have monthly trips for everybody, they rent some apartments for them that help them be as independent as possible and the even go abroad) and being there was a significant experience for me because it was the first time I had the opportunity to meet people with these kinds of disabilities and get to know them and also to understand a bit more what these disabilities are, how they affect people that have them and how they deal with them in such an inspiring way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some hebrew and would like to learn to bake the best chocolate chip cookies so we can eat and share some great stories.
