Dwaymian Brissette is from the Parish of St. James in Jamaica but currently lives and work in Castries, St. Lucia.

He holds a MA and BA in Library and Information Studies along with a minor in Human Resource Development and Certificates in Management Studies and Supervisory Management all from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.

Dwaymian has also received professional certificates in Leadership and Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Project Management and Financial Management; and has a Certificate of Merit from Texas A&M University in Advance leadership.

He is a trained Mediator and holds a Certificate in Mediation Practice and Procedure awarded by the Dispute Resolution Foundation of Jamaica. His crave for knowledge and love for the creative industry motivated him recently in completing a course in International Copyright Law from the University of Amsterdam.

Dwaymian was the 2012 Thomson Reuters Leonie Asgarali, Grant awardee, a 2013 Jay Jordan IFLA/OCLC fellow and a 2014 Open Society Foundation Scholar.

Dwaymian also volunteers his time to conduct workshops in career development, conflict resolution and social justice based on a strong commitment to community development and youth empowerment for various NGO organizations and youth clubs.
He explains that his experiences have caused him to know and value the efficiency of teamwork, emphasize the importance of using one’s initiative and appreciate the rewards of flexibility. He describes himself as very down-to- earth.

Dwaymian embraces mistakes as learning experiences...they put him in the right direction.

Family background
He has a very closely knit family and truly believes that when it comes down to the end, after all is achieved, family and friends who are like family, are what matters most. Not married and no children as yet, Dwaymian however sees marriage and his own family as a distinct possibility in the near future.

Career
Dwaymian Brissette is an Information Professional and currently works as an Information Services and Communication Manager at the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in Castries St. Lucia.
