ABOUT ME

I am an insatiably curious, gay, hillbilly lawyer, who is too nice to practice law full time. I have an MA in Counseling Psychology. I love meeting new people and look forward to seeing the world from different perspectives whenever I get the chance.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am traveling right now and meeting local CSers whenever I get the chance, going to dinner, meeting for coffee, just trying to get involved wherever I am. But I am beginning to think that I am most excited about hosting. I love meeting new people from different places with different perspectives on just about everything, and I can't wait to show people my corner of the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just discovered the community. But informally before finding CS, I have couchsurfed my entire life. My parents move instead of spring cleaning, so I have lived all over the U.S. and have friends all across the country and in the UK. I love to entertain and travel, and hosting travelers gives you the best of both worlds.

Interests

I'm a total nerd, and love to read just about anything, but especially interested in sociology, psychology, law and politics, culture, anything about the human experience and how we all relate. Also love Science Fiction/Fantasy stuff for the ideas of what we think a world could be. I'm fascinated by linguistics and want to learn to speak other languages but only speak a couple (and rather badly -sigh). I joined the Navy to study Russian but was too gay to stay (I know - I'm soooooo gay if I'm too gay for the Navy.!). Drop me a line and I'll tell you the story some time.

I can get really serious, but I love a good laugh and to have fun. I'll try just about anything once, and maybe twice if no one gets hurt and I don't get caught the first time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love it all, and I'm an avid reader while listening to everything from classical to hip-hop. But I suppose in the movie category I am most fond of anything with bunnies and rainbows -- I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been to about 30 countries, and only need about 9 states to have stayed in the entire US. I took trapeze lessons and went to a hippie love-in all in the same weekend. Both were great fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

As an avid learner, I know at least a little about a great deal. I can teach law, many of the social sciences and English. I am an amazing information processor. I want to learn as much as I can and I will happily share any of it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Love to talk culture, learn about different ways of life and being, and swap recipes and cook each other dinner. I want to enjoy the folks I meet as much as I want to see the sights, so I am up for as much as you want to share and show! I always appreciate the hospitality and would love an opportunity to give back in some fashion that suits you - can be dinner, small gifts, a bottle of wine - you name it - but let’s enjoy!
