ABOUT ME
I'm born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I don't get to travel very much, but I love it! I really enjoy experiencing new places and meeting interesting people, which I hope to do through CS.
PHILOSOPHY
"When we have no thought of achievement, no thought of self, we are true beginners. Then we can really learn something. The beginner's mind is the mind of compassion. When our mind is compassionate, it is boundless." -- Shunryu Suzuki

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Montreal and Bruges - both great experiences where I got to meet awesome people. It's wonderful to be able to arrive in a new city and feel like you already have a friend there!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Some of my favorite directors are Zhang Yimou (House of Flying Daggers, Hero, etc), John Woo (lots of HK action films), Wong Kar-Wai (In the Mood for Love), and Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, etc). But I love the original Star Wars trilogy, LOTR (I'm a bit of a geek), and moody stuff like Drive, Brick, Blade Runner.
Not a huge fan of most comedies (I find most to be a bit immature or have cheap laughs), but if you've got something that you swear is hilarioius, I'm definitely open to it!
Music: I listen to everything from Beastie Boys to the Beach Boys, from KMFDM to K-Pop. I love talking about music and am always open to suggestions (and giving suggestions!) or seeing live shows!
Books: I mainly read stuff about theology (I like the whole comparative religion/interfaith dialogue idea) or stuff like No Logo, but Douglas Coupland is probably one of my favorite fiction authors, and I'm definitely open to suggestions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacking across Western Europe for 6 weeks! I learned a lot about cultures and about myself... an awesome experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to play some basslines to a handful of songs and/or do some basic bike maintenance.
I'd love to practice my German/Mandarin Chinese or learn some phrases in whatever language you speak.
