ABOUT ME

We are a couple of friends, we met in england where i am an au pair (clemence) and Katie a gap student. We`re working in the same school so that`s why we hang out a lot together. We thought that what could be better than ending this amazing year of meeting new people and visiting new places than travelling across the whole Europe. So we hope that you can be part of that trip!

Clemence : I used to live in Toulouse, in the south west of France for 3 years. I`m now in oxford until the end of June. I have just graduated this year while in england, but before going back to normal life i want to travel a bit. I like the Internet and especially that kind of websites that connect people (i.e. facebook, MSN). That`s how i found my family this year and i have no regrets.
I like to go out whenever i can or more simply just having a barbecue with my friends, playing games and chatting. I might be a bit shy at the beginning but i quickly become very friendly if i feel comfortable (I can even be very friendly some of my friends say... :-) )

Katie : I`ve grown up in Vancouver Island, on the pacific coast of Canada. I love music and surfing and the random, serendipitous moments that connect us to the people we love :). This year in Oxford has been amazing for meeting people and for travelling; At the beginning of July, we`re coming to see all that Europe has to offer! (Especially pastry, mmmm) Peace, love rock and roll!!!!

We`ve only discovered CS this year, so it`s all new for us. But if everything goes well for us this summer, we`d be more than happy to host fellow world travellers in return :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

we`ve just been staying a couple of times at a friend`s but we now hope to do the same in more unknown countries!

Interests

Travelling, good food,(especially cheese for Clemence) meeting new people, and generally doing as much as we can before we get too old to walk.

Music, Movies, and Books

- Jason Mraz, Chris Daughtry, Milow, Feist, Fool's Garden, Dire Straits, anything from hip-hop, R&B, drum and bass to old school rock and roll. It all depends on the mood!
- I`m a huge fan of all the Woody Allen films (Clemence), dramas and comedy movies and the old classics that nobody has ever heard of before (Katie!)
-Clemence : my favourite authors are Fred Vargas, Marc levy, Guillaume Musso, Amelie Nothomb, Michael Connelly...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Katie: I have seen the Florentine Del Duomo on Easter Sunday, when they let off a cart load of Fireworks to celebrate Jesus Christ.
Also spent a week hiking the West Coast Trail with nothing but twenty pounds of equipment on my back.

Teach, Learn, Share

clemence : Katie can teach you wonderful English words that nobody uses anymore that can be very interesting (she`s been my teacher during the year!)
I love cooking so maybe i could teach you some of my specialities.
