About Me

Hello:

I like to think I am a kind, considerate, and respectful person who loves adventure and meeting new people. I am new to couch surfing, but have a few friends who have benefited from this site and highly recommended it to me. My life-long love of traveling and networking with others across the world has lead to so many new opportunities and friendships and I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am presently planning my big cross-country move to the San Francisco area to attend the City College of San Francisco and Cal-Berkeley and would like to experience and explore the state a bit more before I pack up and make the move permanent. I'm simply looking for kind and genuine people to meet and learn from while making my travel plans a little less daunting.

Interests

I read anything I can get my hands on. Music is right up there with breathing (any genre). Soccer is my sport of choice. Other than those basic things, I find my interests vary in topic and attention scale so much that it's tough to put them down. I love to get deep into, learn, and absorb anything new that crosses my fancy; from ancient Peruvian medicinal practices, to the latest advances in science, all the way to couchsurfing.com!

Music, Movies, and Books

Quite literally, any genre of music so long as it has that something special about it. I read quite a bit of non-fiction (Philosophy, history etc..) but I really enjoy poetry and weird fiction stories (H.P Lovecraft and Neil Gaiman are two of my absolute favorites!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was fortunate enough to spend a month in Peru last Autumn. I still cannot decide which part I liked better: the cities with their delicious food and atmosphere, the Amazon Rainforest for its mystique and age-old medicine practices, on the coast for its timelessness, or the Andes for their immense beauty and mountain communities.

Teach, Learn, Share

With an English mother and Cherokee father, my life has been pretty diverse and has given me the chance to teach others of both cultural sides of my lineage. While I am still young, I have taken it upon myself to preserve my heritage and share it with anyone interested in the past or present states of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee. I believe that sharing cultural knowledge and perspective is one of our most fundamental duties as human beings.
