About Me

ABOUT ME

I rather talk than write about myself, but anyway. Currently I'm a student at University of Ljubljana, where I'm finishing my master thesis in the field of control engineering. Besides that I work in a small software development company in the field of geoinformatics.

Not to scare you too much with technics, I'm generally interested in everything that's going on in the world. I like making my own theories about everything and nothing.

And my answer to life, the universe, and everything just starts with 42 :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Two main reasons:
a) I like meeting people from everywhere (there's nothing better than tip from a local or finding a friend 1000km from home)
b) I'm a poor student (of course I would be sometimes glad to stay in 5-star hotel, but it's kind of impossible for me (the furthest I got in such a hotel was swimming in a pool))

Interests

Literature, cultures of the world, history, engineering, space, human mind etc. Hard to say, I have many interests.

Lately I spend a lot of time thinking about what is a good way to live a life. For example, I'm not a genius and I don't have big business ambitions. I don't believe there's something important I'm destined to do. Then, what is the point of living and working? What is giving me directions and how I (should) decide about my further actions? I haven't arrived to final conclusion yet, come and help me :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Every sci-fi & fantasy, but especially the more humorous ones - like The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or The Discworld series (my favourite are books about Moist von Lipwig)
Also some classics, top 50 definitely including: G. G. Marquez (100 Years of Solitude), Steinbeck (East of Eden), J.R.R. Tolkien (Silmarillion, it's a history book!), Michel Houellebecq (Atomised), B. Pasternak (Dr. Zhivago).
If you know the book Good Soldier Švejk by Jaroslav Hašek, then you are really my man/woman!

Movies:
I can go mostly with everything, though I don't like bad action movies (except if they are really really bad). I'm not really a fan of cinema in general.

Music:
Whatever suits the mood :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived until now. Maybe hitchhiking from Grenoble to Amsterdam in one day? Or jumping from 15m cliffs in the Adriatic (and local canyon)? I also have a lot of drunk stories that I would share only in private :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, my thoughts, some food... I'm a good listener or conversationalist in general, I think.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Slovenia
