My name is Eric James DeRuyter. I was born in Las Cruces, NM. I am first generation American. My father is a citizen of the Netherlands so I grew up traveling a lot. I am thirty years old and love traveling. I had a big change in life recently. I found God and have been really finding my identity. I love backpacking and water in general. Rivers and oceans are my favorite places to be. I love experiencing new cultures and people. I am interested in couchsurfing but have done very little of it. I really enjoy taking pictures of all the places I have been.

I am couchsurfing because I want to experience much more than staying at a hotel and passing by everybody and not knowing their stories. I love different people and places. I feel like every time I travel I have such a greater perspective.
