I'm a talkative Finn who's passionate about life but doesn't take it too seriously. If I'm not smiling or laughing, I'm probably asleep. Please don't wake me up. Unless I'm about to miss my stop.
My mum taught me to talk to strangers, even in languages I don't really speak, and from my dad learned to be very curious about pretty much everything. So it's their fault I'm like this: babbling with pretty much everyone about them, their culture, their habits and their every day life, eager to learn about the nature that surrounds them and the history behind them.
Life has given me some good stories: Drama that I mainly see as comedy and some epic travel stories. But I want more and I'd like you to be a part of the next chapter.
Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.
Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth.
(It's old, but hey, I write like nobody's reading this.)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm an addict. I can't even remember what life was like before I joined CS. Was there life before CS? Well, if there was, I'm sure it wasn't any fun, and travelling, it was definitely not nearly as cool what it is now.
I've so far (01/2015) had the pleasure of hosting 104 travellers, surfed 53 couches to meet their owners, attended several hundred CS gatherings and organised about 60 of them.
I've been a City Amb (read: CS enthusiast) in Stockholm since 07/2008 but I currently live in the middle of nowhere, in Eastern Finland, running my own business. But if you aren't scared of the wolves or busy hotel managers, do come over.
When in a new place, playing tourist on your own doesn't even compare to getting to know cool locals. (YOU.) Couches are not my priority. I've already got several at home.
Languages, cultures, people, things. (Yep, pretty much everything)
As Astrid Lingren's Pippi put it:"I am a Thing-Finder, and when you're a Thing-Finder, you don't have a minute to spare."
Music, Movies, and Books
Everything from opera to heavy metal can blow my mind - or suck for that matter. I prefer rock in bars, jazz in concerts, latinopop in clubs and opera in castles... Lily Allen kicks ass.
I'll never get tired of Borat or the Simpsons. Family Guy, Little Britain, Flight of the Conchords and Lonely Island crack me up on YouTube.
Too many books, too little time. Doing what I can.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've made people smile when they needed it the most. I ordered pizza to the hospital and shared it with my room mates, all recovering from cancer surgery, and in brain hemorrhage rehabilitation I made banana splits for all the patients in my floor. The looks on their faces: priceless.

I'm happy to help in whatever you're doing - whether it's shopping a llama, hosting a radio show, organising a birthday party for a deceased relative or cleaning the bathroom.
