I'm mostly interested in everything. I like to think I'm flexible and adventurous, eager to try new experiences. I love traveling, the outdoors, reading, writing, and other stories. Practicer of martial arts and listening skills.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I've hosted once and enjoyed it a lot! Hosting gives me a chance to enjoy my own town through fresh eyes.
Otherwise, I have done something like CS but with friends; I tend to plan vacations to locales where I know someone because it's way better to have someone to see and double points if they know the area and can share it with me!
Interests
I love stories: mostly taking them in, but also creating my own. I enjoy writing and blogging, as well as learning and teaching. I like languages and words, so linguistics are fun, but also get into history. I majored in Latin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing moment was coming upon a mosque in Georgetown, Penang (Malaysia) during the call to prayer. It was the end of a gorgeous day and we had gotten lost wandering around. The sun was fading out and leaving the clouds all pretty and colorful, and then suddenly there was this beautiful mosque against the sunset sky, haunting beautiful sound drifting out to call the faithful to their prayers. Magic!
Another surprise was a visit with some friends to the nearby Sayo Ruri-ji temple Monkey Park. It was closed, though there was no gate or anyone to stop us, so we didn't know it was closed til we had approached all the way up the hill; disappointed at the total absence of monkeys in the park, we turned to go. To make the most of the trip, we decided to climb up to the part of the temple that was on top of the mountain, and when we finally made it up, we were rewarded with a wide view of monkeys in their tree habitat up on the mountain! We sat around the old relic-like temple for a while watching them, then on the way home, watched the full moon rise over the rice fields. Perfect!
A few more awesome moment were these: Candlelit dinner and learning traditional Khmai dances amidst the ruins of an ancient temple in Banteay Chhmar, Cambodia. Submerging in the crystal blue water of the Musasabi canyon in Shikoku, Japan. Searching for fireflies in Yasutomi, Hyogo, Japan and giving up before spotting a bunch of them floating around a tree by the river. Planning a charity bike ride from Himeji Station up to Mt. Shosha, only to find that it's maple festival day at the temple AND 3-5-7 (cute children) day at the shrines.
